The Season of Citrus

At this time of year sneezes and colds are rife and citrus fruits such as lemons, offer a zesty boost to health providing vitamin C, potassium, fibre and folic acid. Honey Lemon Ginger Tea will help clear those sinuses, and sooth that scratchy throat. We grow rows upon rows of lemon trees in our on-site orchard, and of course you can find honey and ginger in-store at Boric Food Market.

Lemon, Honey and Ginger Tea

1-inch fresh ginger root (grated)
1 cup boiling water
1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
1 tablespoon raw honey

Pour 1 cup boiling water over the ginger and let it steep for 3 minutes. Meanwhile, put the lemon juice and the honey in a large mug. Strain the ginger tea into the mug. Stir to dissolve the honey, taste, and add more honey or lemon juice if you like.
